Hello first post. Have a 03 450es. It is my dads and it started fine and after 45 minutes or so it would die and would not restart until it cooled down. I got it from him to clean the carb out and check it out. It started fine and I never could get it to die on me. It did not feel as snappy on the throttle as it used to be. So I decided to rebuild the carburetor and it did have some crap in the bowl and a little in the jets. I put it back on and it started right away and sounded normal for about 5 seconds then it seemed to run rich. It will not idle even with the idle screw turned all the way in. I took off and went through the carb again and still the same issue. It will start normal cold and within a couple seconds start running rich and won’t idle. It does not matter what position the choke is in it makes no difference. It runs if you hold the throttle on but it sounds like it’s a twin cylinder running only on one. If you let it stall out it is very hard to start you have to feather the throttle lightly with no choke. I have since then emptied and refilled the gas checked the fuel filter new fuel line ( getting plenty of fuel). Changed plugs, adjusted valves, changed the air filter. It has not made any difference.
