Don't know whether oil additive is a good thing or bad thing, but wouldn't switching to Rotella T6 instead of the regular Rotella give you the same result, for the same price, and then you KNOW it's JASO MA rated and there would be no chance of it messing up your clutches? Just a thought.

Ran it for three days straight. In heavy thick mud. Really cudnt tell a difference but it did run well. I did notice the engine didn't overheat when I forgot to clean out the radiatior. But it was wet big time and cooler out. Guess I will have to wait till summer to find out if it will over Heat faster or slower.

So I just bought Rotella T-6 full synthetic (blue 5gallon bottle) for $22 for my 05 Honda rubicon trx 500fa. Been wanting to switch from the expensive gn4 oil at $42 for the oil. I see on the back of the bottle it’s Jaso ma approved. Anyone had problems with it? I know this forum is old but guess can’t hurt to ask

sorry yes. 5 quarts! Just filled it and letting it idle to check oil level.

Couldn’t find it in a 10w. So I put the 5w-40 in it. Hope that’s ok.

You guys are probably tired of hearing my questions by now but I’ve got another one. My machine is the 05 Honda rubicon fourtrax foreman. It’s always had a sort of a small rattle noise in the motor area. I’ve been told it’s a normal tranny noise in these machines and it’s when it’s ilding. It shifts perfect ect. I know some of these Honda’s have a adjustment nut on the outside of the trans but mine doesn’t and there’s nothing in Manual about a clutch adjustment.

Some of the Rubis have that noise. Not sure what it is. Harig is the resident Rubicon expert. You might ask him.
