In most of Montana the rules wont let you ride your atv in the bush .You can only ride them on gravel or paved roads (logging roads ,roads made for vehicles and are on maps) It was the exact opposite of our rules . In Alberta you can go anywhere on crown land and can only use the roads to cross or get to the next trail or piece of crown land

Well our trip was great!. We loved it in Montana. We had zero trouble crossing the border both ways . We stayed in Glacier national park for a few days and were pleasantly surprised we could ride our atv everywhere (except off road) as long as it was insured and plated. We also could have a beer on the beach legally (Both will get us thrown in jail for in our national parks haha) We camped at a few places around whitefish ,family reunion at Lake Five resort (great place for a reunion but not much privacy at the camp sites) ended up at Tally lake ,Great spot and the host was an awesome Guy. We are going back next summer ,Great people ,food and cheap beer

hopefully your guad is plated with a provincial ownership in your name and is insured, aside from the mud it shouldn't be a problem

I have heard of guys getting turned away at the border for having muddy bikes.. I guess there worried about whats in the mud (cross contamination). The guys just had to power wash the mud off and were good to go (with proper paperwork for machines also).
