footshift or auto/dct?

how many miles hours on atv, any mods, you original owner?


NOW< have you been using the correct oil? wet clutch approved oils,
if not, you could slick up clutches and then have issues like this!


if you lift atv off ground ?all 4 wheels can you feel it in gear, do any tires turn freely or have any resistance?
any difference when in 2 wheel drive as to 4 wheel drive?

Sorry guys I should have included way more information.

I am buying this 4 wheeler and I am prepared to rebuild the entire engine, and I am told that it will not move under pressure. Sounds like a clutch issue to me.

Yes, it is a 2015, Automatic/DCT. It has 250 hours, has been running large mudzilla tires with a snorkel. The guy says no water has been in the engine, but says it will not move. Again, I was just wondering if anyone has seen anything like this as he is saying that the gears on the crankshaft are destroyed. I can't see that happening unless something went severely wrong. He also states that he has not modded the clutch. Again, I have not looked at it yet and it just sounds like a clutch issue to me.

He says that it shifts through gears when all 4 off the ground, but will not move when you put it down. I hope it is slicked up clutches as stated by mrbb.

Almost everything is repairable, it all comes down to the money. The reason "run don't walk" stated is it's damaged and snorkeled. There's plenty of deals out there that haven't been abused with a snorkel. I refuse to even look at a bike with a snorkel and I passed on plenty of them. You're going to be working on your ride regardless unless you buy a brand new one so why start out with a major repair. He's selling it and getting it off his hands for a reason. Now if he was giving it to you, it may be worth considering but even then, it's debatable. Everybody's different, your choice.

 

There are no upgrades for the dtc clutch, and with big tires I'm sure that is one messed up bike, hope he only wants 500 bucks for it...

 

It wasn't $500, it was more, so I will let you all know when I get it what is going on with it.

Well, turns out the oil pump was locked up. Had a small piece of aluminum in it, so now I need to find out where that came from!

Yes, the DCT relies heavily on oil pressure.
