09 Foreman blew main fuse

Was riding yesterday and my Foreman just died. I checked kill switch, and then went to fuse box. Main 30amp fuse was blown. I put another one in and as soon as I turned the key on it blew. I started looking for bare wires, but the only exposed wires are the ones from the winch. I looked those over and checked the contactor in the back. Popped another 30 amp in and it worked fine.

My first instinct was "problem solved, add some looming to the winch cables and call it good", but since the winch contactor is directly hooked to the battery, I can't see this blowing the main fuse. I need to check and see where the installer (winch was already on when I bought the Foreman) hooked the red signal wire for the contactor. Anyone have any other common places I should check for a ground? I know there are 1/2 dozen fuses so not sure what all is on the main fuse/ what I should be looking for.

I HATE electrical problems. I'm trying to track down a drain on one of my Jeeps right now and it's driving me nuts!

Thanks

1st thing i would do is like you said find where the trigger for the switch is hooked up
2nd thing is unhook the winch from the battery and see if it blows the fuesses again ...this way you will know if its in the viper winches or in the foremans wireing
