Does anyone out there have an Xtreme winch? I just ordered one and wondered if there are any problems or areas or intrest? I see alot about the Gorillas and Venoms, but not about Xtremes.

I ride with about 20 different people and I don't know anyone who has one. I know over half of us have the Gorilla's and they have been proven very dependable. I hope your Xtreme winch works for you.
got a 2500 its not given any problem i have been pulled out 5 times and have pulled people out i had a 3000 warn but burnt it up so took a chance and went the cheapway its proven tobe great for bout 4 months
xtreme

I installed it Saturday and put it through some medium tests. I like it!!!! It seems strong enough for anything I will need it for. $117 delivered with mounting plate is very fair. It took about 1 hour to install with no trouble. If anyone is looking for a winch I would suggest trying this one. I'll repost if any problems occur in the future.
Have you winched it up a tree yet? That is how I tested my Gorilla. Keep us informed on the Xtreme Winch for the future!
Yes, I did lift it up a tree and I put a load of wood on behind me and pulled it with my brakes locked up a mild grade to my deck. It never really bogged down. I have a feeling it is the same as the Gorilla and Venom winches.
cool! hope it is like the gorillas!
I put mine on yesterday. Very easy to install. Seems to work great. I used today and it pulled me right out. Didnt bog down at all. I think it pulls better than my warn did.

Got the 3k version last week and was very impressed (not easy to do). I currently have 2 Warn Jeep winches (8k and 9k) and have had over 25 years of experiance with off road winches. The Xtreme winch seems as good or better than any I have seen or used. My brother has the Warn 3K on his 05 Foreman and it is noisy as heck while my Xtreme is very quiet for a winch. Definitely will buy another, as a matter of fact I just ordered a rear winch mount for my 07 Foreman and will be ordering another Xtrreme 3K for the rear.

After seeing the Xtreme, Gorilla and Venom winches in person my money says they are all made in the same factory with just different decals on them.
Just letting you all know, I have the 3000# Gorilla and the solenoid went out, so they sent me a new one at no charge. Then my free spool stopped working so Gorilla sent me a new winch, no charge. Well instead of taking the winch off, I decided to leave it on for a while. I used the winch for 4 months with the free spool not working. Now last week, I got into some NASTY stuff, thick, pasty mud, and the Gorilla finally gave in. It went to pieces. the motor is still working great, just the spool broke apart. It is time to put the new winch on now. Even still, i will order another Gorilla winch before I ever bought a Warn!
i wouldnt spend the money for a warn got 3 mile markers wasnt sure bout extreme or gorrila's if your happy stick with them may end up getting bigger and better. found a shop around here that is selling t-max atv winch's, they have been named the baddest winch by most truck mags and they are sealed the truck ones not sur ebout wheelers. under 200 for a 2500 isnt bad in my book
Have you guys seen the prices on E-bay. $110 for winch and mount. Thats the gorilla winch 3000 waterproof version. You can get that the blue steel 50' rope and the wireless remote for under $200 w/ winch. Im impressed. Maybe santa clause will be good to me this year.

Heres the Link
10-4 on the Ebay link. That is where I got mine. If you look through all of it, you can find the winch and the size specific mounting bracket to go with it for free. I even saw the synthetic rope for free with a winch purchase. Just keep looking through them all.
I have been so impressed with the Xtreme winch that I just bought another one and made a custom rear mount for it. Heck for $79 it is almost as cheap as buying a good nylon strap and then having to carry it around in the rear bag etc.. I usually drag or pull most stuff from behind (lots of fallen trees on my property) so I will end up using the rear one more than the front.
Happy to have found this write up on the Xtreme winches, I had decided I was going to go ahead and buy one off Ebay for $105 + $31 S&H rather than the $350 Waren , usually I am the type to buy the name brand stuff.

Thanks for the write up

I am usually the same way about the name brand thing, but after some good usage of the Xtreme winches... I now consider it a name brand.

You won't be disappointed, and you will be proud of yourself for not wasting $300+.
I'VE PULLED MY BUDDY (250LBS) AND HIS BIG ARTIC CAT OUT OF PEANUT BUTTER MUD OVER HIS TIRES WITHOUT EVEN MAKING THE WINCH GRUNT. MINE IS ONLY THE 2000 SO A 3500 WILL PULL A SEMI OUT. VERY NICE WINCHES!!!!!!!!!!!

They are, my Xtreme Owners Manual even had pics with Venom on some of the winch illustrations.
