well let me just say that i have always liked hondas until i got this 07 rubicon. Mechanically it has been sound but electronically it has been in the shop 5 times(fixing to be 6). And the first time was 3 weeks after i got it brand new!! So after this one i'm not sure i would buy another Honda!(Not saying i'm not but it would have to be a very good deal!!)

did you use dielectric grease on every connection on the bike? its mandatory with a honda in my opinion. I had troubles with mine throwing error codes when it was brand new also. since I greased everything all the troubles went away. I cant believe they dont come already done from the factory.

I'm not a fast rider either. Until I moved here my average speed was 8.5 mph and now it's closer to 10 mph.

The difference is I used to trailer my ATV to the trailhead and now I ride it to the trailhead. There are times I might ride 10-15 miles on graded gravel roads 40-45 mph to get to my destination and there's the increase in my average speed.

I much prefer to be in low-range climbing up hills through the trees and up rock/boulder strewn washes than blazing across the flat lands at WOT (wide open throttle).
I would guess that our avg speed is 15 mph, but that is on trails I already know and have rode .....Y'all dont get me wrong here I'm NO speed demon, and it don't take a lot to go a tad bit faster to get that smoother ride.........
Im 5th gear everywhere. I like the speed and handling of the 450. I need to learn to slow down because Ive almost wrecked a couple of times.

I have been hearing mixed reviews about the new 500s. Sure they dont make them like they used to...But then again, the new ones are more efficient. The reason it got low marks because of the class. Everyone in the 500 class is more sporty than the honda. Remember, honda hasn't changed much..Its still a truck. So it handles and rides like one. But that's why people use hondas for work. Its reliable and slow. Its by far not the biggest quad in the 500s, but pound for pound...I think it pulls circles around the others. Honda has been making small motors since the 50s...i trust them. This is just my opinion though....
