If you get a choice take the rope.I have a gorilla 3000lb and 100ft of synthetic rope. The rope works great,Had it almost a year an no problems. At the time I bought my winch gorilla didn`t have the synthetic rope with there winches,I bought that speratley an spliced the rope to the winchdrum.
I just ordered a gorilla with the 45' synthetic, however I just learned that the brand they supply is not very good quality. It's called 'blue steel' but it's a knockoff of another high end brand.

I'll use it until it breaks but I likely wont replace it with blue steel again.
Iv got the gorilla 2000 pound winch with the steel cable. iv had no problems and I know for sure that the steel wont break.
I ordered a Gorilla 3000 lb with 45' of steel cable last night off of EBAY. With mounting bracket included total cost was $156.98. You can't really beat that!

Don't be to sure i was pulling out a pathfinder from a ditch and something told me to lay my jacket on the cable (i never do that). then my cable snapped,it's better when the jacket takes the hit instead of my melon. Now i ride with my small kids so i got the synthetic rope so i don't have to worry about anything like that happening.
well an atv winch aint rated to pull out a vehicle. if you use it correctly it wont break
How many times does it kink on you. You have to replace it after each kink the rope doesn't kink and if it snaps you tie it together to get the job done.
its never kinked. and if it ever does ive already got my money's worth
thanks for the input and pics i am going to order it trom i am going to go with steel
You haven't pulled at an extreme angle when it spools on one side of the winch then you check the cable and see the damage.
anytime bud. is your dog a blue heeler

My riding buddies are 3 1/2 and 5 both male so you know that they get there hands on everything when your not looking. but it's sometimes better riding than riding with older people.
Synthetic no question!!!
