I have a 2500 on my 500 S and was thinking a 3000 would have been better. But you can use a pulley and double up on your line to get 2x the pulling power.

I would recommend at least a 2500.
can u show me how to make that pully i just bought a 1500 and would like to know how u can double it
Just do a google seach on it and it wil show you a bunch of different ways. I have a 2000 and it does good. I never double it with a pulley. It has pulled me out when my other ATV and a tow strap wouldn't... You are supposed to do 3 time the weight of you and your bike together. But I am never on it when i winch it.

It is called a snatch block. Here is a link to one that Warn makes...I'm sure you can find one cheaper but this will get you on the right path....

I wouldn't even waste your money on a #1500. Spend a little extra and get a #2500 at the very least. I have had a handful of machines with winches on all of them. I chose the #3000 for my 500ES that I have right now and it's a huge difference. It doesn't have to work as hard as the #2500 so I think it is easier on everything. Electrical, battery and winch motor.
