has anyone ever heard of or used a venom winch. i need a winch but i dont want to spend $350 for the warn. ebay has a 2500# venom winch with everything you need to install it and a mount for the 500 foreman for $120+32 for shipping not a bad deal if it works good. let me know what you guys think. only a 30 day limited warranty

I put a Venom 2000 on my friends Wolverine. It seems to be ok. The mount was very nice, the winch seems nice, the wiring and switch were a little cheap. I hope this helps. If you do not get one I would look at the Ramsey winches, I have one on my 500 and it is great.
Mile marker makes great winches too. the 2.5k is around $200. You may want to look into those. I recently saw some of them for sale at a local autoparts store.
I'd stay away from Venom. My brother had one on his 700 Polaris and it wouldn't pull it on a flat surface without binding up.
I have a mm 350 and it pulls hard. Its real slow but it never gives up. Last weekend I pulled a buried rhino out. I tied off to a tree and it never bogged just kept pullind and thats straight line not snatch blocked.
hey thanks alot guys, i think im going to go with the mile marker. thanks again
Mile marker I heard ok. But when I was buying my winch, I was going with Superwinch, but I paid the few extra dollars and got a good winch and a name I trust.
HAS ANYONE PUT 3.0 WARN WINCH ON AN 05-06 FOREMAN IF SO WHICH MOUNTING KIT PLATE DID YOU USE THANKS
That winch is pretty big I would think that would take a custum mounting plate if it would fit at all. Do you really need one that big, if so go for it you will definately never stall it out.
I put one on my 04 rubicon and i got it as a gift but my brother said that they got it for a truck Company that sales Warns winches so you can try to find a truck shop and the key to using a big winch on a 4-wheeler is to go with short pulls because long pulls will burn it up I know Check the sig.
I WAS GONNA GET THE 2.5 BUT THE 3.0 HAS THE LIMITED LIFETIME WARRANTY AND IS SEALED A LITTLE BETTER FOR THE WEATHER

I have the 3.0 on my 450 and that thing is awesome. I have used it while it was completely UNDER muddy nasty water with no problems at all. I've had it for over a year now and it has worked flawlessly. Great winch, I will definately get another when the wife gets her atv.
Did yall have to do anything special to make it fit in the frame, I had always heard that they were too big to fit. Guess you can't always belive what you hear. I know that if I was choosing between the 2 I would pick the 3k sealed and stronger
The 4.0 is too big and is made for RUVs. The 3.0 is not much bigger than the 2.5 and 2.0s.
i got my MM 3500 for $230 free shipping. it is really slow but really strong!! and made a mount plate for it. fit with out a problem, and its almost hidden, cant really see it from either side, it mounts inbetween the headlighes on the subfram.

my friend has a warn 3.0 on his rancher, it is too fast for me. hard to roll up right trying to keep the wire straight. i got the amsteel blue rope on mine. Thats the best thing i have ever gotten, it doesnt kink, cut you, and heck of alot easier to roll up. not like the wire rope, when it is in a bind and you give it slack it doesnt go crazy like the wire rope and get all messy.
but thats my 2 cents
I know a guy with a warn 4000 on a rincon.. I saw him pull his bike up a muddy hill while he had it in reverse spinning the tires. Not the smartest thing I have ever seen but the winch never even looked like it had a load on it.
