Hey my Venom winch solenoid went out over the weekend....I guess the creek splash killed it? Didn't seem to be all that waterproof. Anyway, does anyone recommend an aftermarket / marine solenoid that I could get? This winch also can with a hand held remote...do you know of any aftermarket solenoids that would also handle this capability?

I just got a waterproof gorilla winch, and i had no idea where to put the solenoid. I mounted it in the back box of the atv. That box isnt waterproof though, only water resistant. So will the solenoid be ok if it gets wet? and if not where do i mount it?, it doesnt fit in the batery box either.

Those contactors aren't waterproof, they fill with water very easily. I learned this the hard way, now whenever we install a winch on our buddies bikes we RTV silicone the heck out of it to try and seal it up!

I mounted mine on the bar under the seat on top of the battery. I made an aluminum plate that I secured to the bar with u bolts then mounted the contactor on that.
