This isn't true. Rubicons were alway 499cc motors. However, Foremans changed form 433 cc to 475 cc.Older Rubicons were true 500cc motors. The new foremans and Rubicons are actually 475cc motors.
No need to apologize. Honest mistake.... I make my share too.Ok. I apologize. I was under the impression it was the same motor, but more options.
The bore is the same on both, but the stroke is shorter on the foreman. I don't know why Honda engineers did this for sure, but I suspect that the transmission on the Rubicon isn't as efficient as the Foreman's gears so to try and make up the difference by increasing the engine torque. However, I believe that the foreman still as more bottom end and they could have put a 525cc engine in the Rubicon to equal the power of the Foreman.I would be interested to know the reasoning behind extra 24cc's in the rubicon over the foreman. Is the cylinder bore actually bigger? Are they trying to make up for lost power from the trany?
