What year is my foreman 400?

Hi all, Newbie here. Can anybody tell me how I find out what year my foreman 400 is. I need to get a prop shaft and related bits for it as the splines have been stripped and I have lost drive to my front wheels. :rant

Most Honda ATVs have a sticker on the frame underneath the front fender near the bumper mounts that has the year on it.
Over the years these stickers tend to get scraped off or pressure washed off but mine is 1998 and still has it so yours may have it still too?

But if it dont, the vin# is located in the same area and if you can find it post it on here and I have a Honda Identification guide that will let me look it up.

If its anything like tha 450s there shuld be a tag on tha front of ur frame above ur differential unless its peeled off. Welcome to tha site!

thanks for the quick replies and the warm welcome. i will get on it after work tomorrow.
i have stripped the prop shaft out of the ATV or Quad

as we call them here, i will take some pics for you guys but i promise you it is no looker. its a workhorse, its only a toy when the work is done.

So my quad is a 97, now I can start the painfully expensive ordering of parts.

Hi Guys,

Newbie here too

, I can't find the VIN or sticker anywhere. I'm in need of a shift lever, and want to make sure I get the proper one. Are they all the same? It is a Honda Foreman 400.

I am almost positive ALL shifters are the same for the 400;s foremans
the VIV will be up on the steering post area, it would be a sticker and also stamped into the frame in that area,NOT easy to see, but its there
