What type of oil?

What type of engine oil does a 1996 honda foreman 400 take?

I use Spectrum 10W40 motorcycle engine oil.

allhonda is right some oils have additives in them that would let the clutches slip. you can do a google search for different types of atv oils. there are alot of different brands to choose from.
I no this oil sounds kinda thin , but we put Castrol Syntec Full Synthetic sae 5w-30 in our 98 honda foreman 400 and it works really good

It comes in a 1 litre bottle with a cap that looks like a bolt, and it is pretty expensive oil, but it works good
