i will have to take some pics of what i am doing so you can see...

I am making something that is really small and easy to take on/off.

it is completly sealed so you don't need that housing...although that is pretty cool

i wouldn't mind getting one, but it is way too big.

My son uses a portable system for his I-Pod. Compact, has carrying case, 10 hour battery charge and great sound. It's what I'll be using for tunes on the trail this year. Only need it when we stop for a "boil up" or beverage break.

its almost done

hey coop

yeah i will be finishing it up tonight and tomorrow...

we are going for a ride tomorrow afternoon so i want to have it done by then...

all i have left to do is build a frame to hold the deck so that it doesn't bounce around...and maybe add a bead of silicone around the speakers for added strength.....i have the stuff just don't have time right now...i am actually at work right now

20 mins of work and it will be done

i will be sure to take some pics and post them here as soon as i get it done.

hhahaha

not supposed to be on here but what the ****, nothing to do here anyway.

I am thinking of cutting a small window in the top of the box so that I can use a remote to control it...i have to find the remote first...

this project has only costed me about $40 so far so i am pretty happy with it.

i think that mine has aninput in the back for aux...i may try to hook the eifes ipod up to it and see how loud it is...if that is the case a few playlists should last us all day.

forget all that big bulky stuff... it doesnt even look good. i think it looks like u got a massive treasure chest on the front of the bike.... not clean lookin at all. go with the audiopipe from ballsdeepatv check out the site... www.ball-deep-atv.com its a very good product and easy to remove if you need to. i have the extreme and its VERY loud. and super easy to install. all you need is any type of mp3 player to send music to it.

here it is

I haven't finished it yet b/c I had other things to do.

But I snapped a few pics so that you can see what I have been talking about.

That tube thing looks a little ridiculous to me. i am sure it works good though...

I will be adding a small antenna so we can listen to some free tunes...

and the box is big enough to install a CB radio and small antenna...

all you have to do is plug the one 12v plug into the accessory port on the foreman....

anyway, here it is.

the reason i dont like the cdplayer is, you cant listen to cd's while driving... everyone i ride with has to listen to the radio while they drive and then cd's when we are stopped. the roads are too bumpy.
i think the tube looks much better, it has a smoother look and its not as big and bulky on the front racks as a box is.

what kind of speakers are going to put in ur ammo box?

well the box has marine speakers mounted in it...with the way i am mounting the cd player i can still listen to cd's...

it is designed to lay flat on the racks and mounted using bungees...

the back of the cd player has an input for an ipod so that i can use the cdplayer as an amp and really crank up the watts...i may add a set of tweeters for that kick ass screaming sound....

the best part is my setup doesn't cost $200 like the tubes...all together i paid about $50 for parts...

beat that...

get it made first and sink completly. i wanna see that

idea: put the connection for the IPOD on the front (towards you) of the box, it will be more accessable and look better.

how are u going to mount the cdplayer so you can still listen to cds? as long as its mounted to the box it will still shake when you hit bumps. unless you have a little pillow you are putting it on. that would be cute!

btw, if you have an input for the IPOD, whats the point of the cdplayer?

some cd players have an input on them. that might be one of them.

i use a wirless fm tuner for my ipod and keep in the box on the fender. and sometimes i like listening to the radio.

too me it looks like too much stuff for such a simple idea... the cdplayer servers no point other than something that can get wet and shortout or overheat. also the cdplayer has a maximum watts of 52x4 or 2, maybe 54x4 or 2...ipod should plug directly into an amp, then into the speakers. i have a 100x2 watt amp inside the tube with no chance of getting wet b/c it will never be opened. it pumps out some serious sound. make sure you by a good brand name speakers like alpine or RF, maybe even some high end sony.

i think u got a great idea, but i dont see it working out for you the way you would like it.

but goodluck, and i would love to see the fnished product when you are done... hope it works
