Carb heater. Screws into the bottom of the carb and warms the fuel for cold weather use.

Wow, carb heater, I learned something!


Dig up the wiring diagram to ID that wire. Does it have a connector on the end?


Looks like another cable loose, in the area by the nose of the starter. Ground or battery cable judging by the size.

And the broke wire next to it goes where?

The wire that's coming out of the same loom that goes to the carb heater? Pretty sure that should be soldered to the bottom of the carb heater. Looks like the joint broke.

Jeep has it answered. Unplug it and ride on, it's not needed even in cold climates.
