Yes, the first day i got it i took it in some mud that was about seat level, and i drove in that mud all day. When i was done riding my atv, the back compartment had mud and water in it. Even the front one had a little bit but not much. The compartment is water resistant but not water proof. If you keep it in too much water its gona leak.
Yep, every time I ride I have to drain the trunk and wash it out. The seal around the door moves around and lets the water/mud in!!
Yeah there not airtight, water will get in.
Mine gets wet.I don't think it was designed to be a dry storage.I don't keep anything in there that msut stay dry.
THAT SUCKS, I ALSO HAVE A RECON AND THE BOX ON IT STAYS DRY.
Every time I ride. My gasket doesn't even stay in I just keep my tow stap in there.
Keep the plug out. Yes water can get in but it can also get out. I've never had a problem with the fender storage though, I keep that plug in. Water is going to get in there so you just have to figure out what you want to do......................never will be waterproof so just remove plug
is problem isnt only a honda thing, the can-am storeage boxes leak.. you think you pay over 12grand for a atv the storage box would not leak!! lol
i dont really ride much mud, lots of trails tho. last summer for the first time in 5-6yrs i washed the inside of it, i figured i was doing a great thing, then it came to me.. how in the **** am i goina get all that water out, i just backed into a ditch and all the water came out, still you think there'd be a plug just the one on the air box.
i used to put a zip lock bag in the back of mine, still not that air tight but it helps some, BTW do not put rags back there and let them get wet, they will start molding and will stink pretty bad

amen about the stank
i put silinoid for my winch back there and wanted to seal everything up the best i could. i bought a new seal around the door and siliconed it up real good. i usually have to be under water/mud for the better part of the day to have any moisture in it. i still only trust the fender dry box for phone and keys though.
Yeah I put my solenoid in there too, but I leave plug out. NOT WATER TIGHT...............LEAVE PLUG OUT, IN FACT DRILL A 1/2" HOLE WHERE FACTORY PLUG IS. THAT WAY CHUNKS GET OUT TOO

why would you drill the hole out more? what do you mean "to let the chunks out too".
Mud, silt, etc. When this stuff enters box, a larger hole will let it pass.
yup, mine leaked from the get go, i drilled some more holes in it to help drain it also, otherwise some water just sits in the bottom and really gets funky
Don't you guys clean it out when you clean your quads after a good ride?
i barely clean mine after a good ride...thats what ridiing through a good lake or canal is for before you go home
