hey i right now own a warn 2500. stripped gears..

i wonder wat whould b the best 2500 or 3000lb winch.. thanks

wats the worst hole u been in with urs
i was in a hole the was bout to bottom of pipe in mud.. and it just stripped the gears housing out.. but there was alot of suckion.

i had the same thing happen but i think all gears are shot. were dont goin to tare it down. cuz we just now it whould b cheaper to buy a new one. i might end up with a 3.0rt...

ya if i know i cant get out.. i just get the winch out and use it.. except the last hole i was in.. i just sink. then just tryin useing winch.. but it just stipped the housing out...

ya but i got ahold of warn on friday and they said the piece was 28 bucks plus shipping. so i dont know. i might jsut get the part. and sale it and then buy a 3.0rt

the end housing.. which if it does. it is 31.51 from monstercommercesites.com, im goin to get my fixed then sale it..

The new 2500RT & XT both are sealed and have metal gears like the 3000lb. I looked at the price and didn't mind spending alittle more though. If you have a smaller budget just go with the 2500. I will be all you need.

The gears are made of plastic and will strip if you ever challenge the winch. I guess the motor is too strong and keeps trying beyond the 2500lb limit. Thats why metal gears is always the way to go.

no the gears are not made of plastic only the housings are..

yes the gears are inside of a plastic housing which the gears spin around in.... which when u put plastic with metal gears.. its goin to b like hot knife with butter.
