water problems

HAVEING PROBLEMS WITH BIKE STALLING IN WATER. JUST INSTALLED HMF QUIET CORE & DYNO JETKIT. RIGHT NOW IM RUNNING A 175 JET WITH AIR MIXTURE SCREW TUNED OUT 2 1/2 TURNS SHOULD I GO DOWN TO A 170 MAIN JET. IT LOSES POWER ONLY WHEN PIPE GOS UNDER & WHEN IM IN A HIGH GEAR AND LOW SPEED AND HIT IT FULL THROTTLE IT SPUTTERS UNTIL I LET OUT A LITTLE BIT THEN IT PICKS UP. THANKS TO ALL WHO CAN HELP!!!!!!!!

It may be from the steam. My 450 was doing that, and Carl rerouted the air vent hose(I think) to go up a little higher and it never did it again.

I THINK ITS FLOODING ,OUT WHEN I PULLED MY THE PLUG OUT OF THE BOTTOM OF MY CARB A LOT OF FUEL CAME OUT IT HAS NEVER DONE THAT B4
not sure, but mine was under the seat some where. He could tell you better than I could. Maybe he will see this in the morning and let you know!
OK THINKS FOR THE HELP IM GONNA CHANGE THE JET AND RECHECK EVERY THING ELSE I KNOW MY NEEDLE IS ON THE # 4 SLOT I THINK IT SHOULD BE ON # 3 PER KIT.REALLY DIDNT HAVE ANY PROBLEMS UNTILL PIPE AND JET KIT.
Yeah..the jet make a big difference, we found that out when we snorkeled mine 2 weeks ago. It is running better with the jet, but still needs a little tweeking!
B4 I JETED MY BIKE IT WAS SNORKLED AND RAN FINE NOT SURE WHAT TO DO I HOPE ITS JUST A CARB THING IN A WAY I KNOW TUNEING CARBS CAN BE PAIN. I CHECKED MY PLUG AND IT LOOKS OK. WHO KNOWS ?
How much water cam out of the carb drain? Mine always has a FEW DROPS come out when I pull the plug in the drain after riding. Did you put Dielectric grease on the spark plug? If you did you may want to hit it again. I have to regrease mine every 3-4 rides. Sometimes mine will sputter in the water, but after it gets fresh grease it is good to go for another few rides.


I run a DJ170 (per the kit) and Robb uses a DJ175.
yeah I DID ALL THAT EVEN AFTER I JUST PUT IT ON AND IT STILL DOES IT. ABOUT THE FUEL DRAIN I THOUGHT I WAS DRAINING MY CARB

Check your needle if you think you put it on the wrong notch. I accidently put mine on the wrong notch and it ran like crap until I fixed it. BTW, I'm running a DJ175
THANKS IM GONNA WORK ON IT TONIGHT RECHECK IT ALL . YOU THINK I SHOULD RUN 175 OR 170. YOU THINK THERE IS THAT MUCH OF DIFF IN BETWEEN HMF UTILITY AND QUIET CORE TO GO UP OR DOWN A JET.IM NOT REAL SHURE IT EVEN A CARB PROBLEM JUST ASSUMEING CAUSE IT STARTED AFTER I PUT THEM ON.
me and Truegrit are are running a 170....robb is running a 175 i think...but all our bikes seem to run the same so go figure....i hate carburators
Question

When you say you are running a 170 or 175. Is that Kehein? The reason i ask is my dynojet kit come with jets upto 160. My oem jet reads 162. Ive heard the oem jet is in Kehein and Dynojet jets are different.
run a DJ 170 and put the clip on the 3 groove. the number one groove on the needle is the top one. so it will be the 3rd one down. im running with my a/f screw turned 2 turns out and i have the iridium plug. mine was too rich until i put the new plug in the other day now mine is working fine.
he says his kit only came with upto 160
