Warn Winches

Is a Warn 2500lb good enough or is 3000 the way to go. I find that it is a little pricey 100 more bucks for 500 more pounds (with two babies not much in the budget for my toys) . I go in serious mud couple times a month and have burnt up two 2000 pound Superwinches in less than a year. I am tired of cheap stuff i want the real thing WARN! Your thoughts will be appreciated.

I had to rebuild my old 2.5 too many times due to water getting in to get another. But 3.0s are really pricey.

Look in to Mile Markers winches too. My has worked very well for the short time I've had it. It just pulled a SP800 out of a hole this weekend w/o even straining. And it is less than 1/2 the price of the 3.0.
I have a Warn 3000. I wouldn't trade it for anyother winch. I have pulled out Yamaha Rhino's, Kawasaki Mule's, and Toyota 4x4 pick up trucks. It is the best thing since sliced bread.
here is what i got. and where i got it from.. 3500lb winch for $229.95 free shipping.. i have pulled so much stuff with mine.. even my brothers chevy 4x4.. it doesnt strain much either. and its been dunked in water since day one.. hasnt stopped yet. but for the money, i dont think you can beat that. whats a warn 3.0? bout $450-500ish? you could get two MM 3500's for what you can get 1 Warn for.

check it out.
I like the price and testimonies i have read on the Milemarker winch, but the only question i have is does it have a handlebar mounted rocker switch or does it only have the 12ft hand held switch?
Yes it only has the remote. It is abit of a pain to dig it out ant put it on. But I am in the process of putting a Warn Mini-rocker on. Even if you buy one of those you are still a lot cheaper than a Warn.

so what is your total cost for your winch install if you dont mind me asking? including the AP bash plate.
$270 for the winch plate, Skid Plate, and Belly plate. I don't see it all priced individually on AP aite, but I am sure you can buy the Bash plate and winch mount seperate, if you don't want the belly plate.. Then $200 for the winch. Then the rocker switch from $25-35, depending on where you find it.
the 3.0 warns are seal and the 2.5 warns are not seal. Thats what I was told
That 3.5 MM looks nice but does it come with a wiring kit? And where can i buy a REAR mounting kit for it? I dont like to mount the winch in the front.

How does the winch work if you dont have a rocker switch on the handle bars? Does it have a button to retrieve on the actual winch?
Yes the MMs have the complete wiring kit along w/ a corded remote to operat ethe winch.

If you want the winch in the back look into a Multimout system. So you can switch it between the front and rear.
Where can i find the multimount kit?
Montana Jack's and Warn both make them. Just do a search for them. Most use a 1 1/4" receiver system, just like a car or truck.
Montana Jacks is $484!

Warn sells a universal roller fairlead and fairlead mount for about $70. Will these work?
