you can get one at the 12 volt plug on the light pod but it is hooked into only a 10 amp fuse.
Harry is right on the money. The cig lighter on the left side of the pod has an ignition controlled (+) wire.

The fact that it is supplied with a 10amp fuse should not be a problem, because the power that flows from the switch to the selenoid is a much lower amperage that what goes to the winch.

I've got my mini-switch for my superwinch going to this (+) wire and it works fine.

TRHOD
I ran mine directly to the ignition switch underneath the pod.
Mine is hooked up also to the aux. power plug and could get to it without removing any plastic. Was not easy to do, but got it hooked up and works perfect.
Would that be the green or white wire on an 07 ruby?
Here's what Honda Mechanic replied to someone else. I was looking for the same thing so I figured I'd let you know.

Honda Mechanic said "White/black is the accessory wire ,if you use it you should change the accessory fuse from 10A to 15A ..."

You know what, I read that post.. I dont know why I didnt put 2 &2 together.. Thanks.. It was the white one...
I had mine tapped to the ACC. plug, but it was not pulling enough amps to completely close the contactor. (it would click, bu tthe winch would not move.) After talking w/ Warn's tech support. they suggested runninng the red wire directly to the battery. And it works great now. Yes I know the winch is "on" all the time but if that bothers you you can put a switch in line. Just keep that in mind...
I have mine wired directly to the battery too...never been a problem this way but i'm the only one who rides it so I know the winch switch is "live" all the time.
what is the easiest way to put a pod light switch on a 08 ruby
To turn the handle bar headlight off? Just take the top plastic cover off and pick one of the wires that plug into the headlight, cut it and run them into a toggle switch. I would do the ground wire and I would have to look for the exact color but green is ground on a Honda.
