blforeman,

i ran my red wire straight back to the fuse box. i pulled the box and located larger guage black wire that was hot when the key was on and tapped into it. a whole lot easier than pulling ignition and finding hot wire there like the instructions say. i only resort to them at last resort. i dont know if you have the 3.0 or not but i put the 10' wired remote about 3" from the lighter outlet. hope this helps ya.
get power from your accessory plug.

too much work getting it out, or i just didnt know how to do it i guess. simple to run the wire and tape in under the fuse box.
I very carefully tied into the assesory plug without having to remove any plastic. Was tight, but worked from behind the plug plastic. Tricky but was not too bad.

Same here it isn't that bad.
I just disconnected the wiring from the wheeler, took the whole plug out and spliced into on the bench.
look in the set of wires that go to the head light. and splice into the pink wire. that wire is only hot when the key is on.
thanks guys for the info, I ended up just running the wire to the fuse panel. Really easy, just tamped into the pink wire.
