I'm just wondering what you guys do to stop your rubicon from rolling during transport on a truck or trailer. I've been locking my ebrake at the handbrake, but I don't want to stretch my cable all to ****. Is there a better way? On my buds flatdeck my quad sits on the back with just a tie down across the front and one accross the back. I'm relying on this to keep it from rolling off the back of the trailer. What do you guys do?

Tie downs, bailing wire, bailing twine, rope or if i'm ambitious i'll close my tailgate

i put my ebrake on put it in 4 wheel drive and keep it in gear and shut the gas off and run the carb almost out and have two tie downs front and back

putting it in 4wd will not help your machine at all. once you turn the key off, your 4wd goes off as well.

now the 2012 foreman or the 2007 and newer ranchers will work since they are a manual actuated system.

I usually just run it up against the headache rack in the box of the pickup and put one strap across the back, works good. If I'm hauling multiple rides on a trailer I put 4 straps per bike, and good ones. I don't want them things coming of at 75 mph. I also have one of those guard dog's that go in the receiver, that works really well too.

I took a 15 inch wide peice of 1/2 plywood 4ft long and screwed 2x4s on each side of it, long ways. It makes a 2x4 chock on the front and back of the tire that won't spread apart.

in a truck the ebrake is pointless tires will slide on bare metal like butter, i found with mine strap the back end down tighter than the front and there wont be ANY body roll

learnt my lesson there, i had 2 straps on my bike on a trailer the driver had to swerve to miss a wreck so it got bumpy. Got to the trails to unload and my bike was against the back gate with no straps! thats just lovely to see a month old $6k hanging on by a thread:ph34r:

Thanks guys. I'll make some chocks asap. I thought that when the machine was in gear on off it would roll as if in neutral. I'll have to double check that. I always transport in neutral. Thanks for the help

yeah, my bike will roll when it's off AND in gear...so i use one ratchet strap on all four corners of mine. and i lock the parking brake...but now my brake cable is stretched.

I know everybody has their own way of securing their rides but here's what i use on a trailer. Two good rachets, one in front and one in back. No brake and an automotive axel strap over the rear axel just in case. The axel strap saved me a few years ago. The axel strap will easily hold the machine on the trailer if all else fails. Good luck.

I roll my 500 Foreman up against a log in the front (not breaking rear window again thanks) two tie downs in front, two in back with ebrake on and in gear. Use mine as transport duck hunting so the tires are a little muddy.
