Well after one year on my 06 Foreman ES 4x4, I bought a new 2007 Arctic Cat H1 last week and sold the Foreman. I wanted to keep both but seemed a silly thing to do since I would be making payments on two, and only riding one! I miss already being able to slide the rear around to cut down on turn radius (can't do it on the H1!) The H1 is noticably heavier than the Foreman was (and the Foreman was heavier than the Rancher before it!) But overall, I think the H1 is an AWESOME machine so far! I was worried about all the stuff that can mess up, when its actually really simple in design! Alot easier to clean too! I will miss the Foreman but I am sure the H1 will do great for me!
Cat's hate water?.....well I've owned three (check signature) and they all did very well in the water. My 04' 500 had a crappy fitting lid on the airbox. Some silicone and it was good good to go. Went through water all day long. I did have to bump up the idle a hair or it would want to kill when the muffler went under. Maybe the Cat motor is different than the Zook's but they didn't run a hose on the bottom of the carb drain so every once in a while I would have to open drain to clean bowl, then right back in the H20 she'd go. Fun machines but require a lot of tinkering. Good luck on yours and I bet you'll go back to Honda at some point, I went through the same growing pains.
WAIT UNTILL YOU START GOING THROUGH SOME MUD, IF THAT CAT AIN'T SCARED, AND YOU'LL BE LOOKING FOR SOME WATER TO FEED THAT RADIATOR ON THAT CAT BECAUSE IT OVERHEATED AND YOUR FAN PROBABLY WON'T WORK EITHER. BUT TELL ME HOW THE REAR OF THE NEW FOREMANS LOOK. HA HA...
I rode this past weekend and had almost no problems. I got some crap in my carb but otherwise no issues. The air intake is in a bad place so I have to snorkle it this weekend. Intake is right above the radiator and if you drop in at an angle, it can suck crap in it. Manifold side was clean but the intake side of the carb had some crap splattered on the bell. Otherwise Kitty likes the mud!!
stang67, I can't really cut a donut or anything even close like I could with the Foreman. I think its from the IRS squating when you try to throw it sideways. Now it WILL go sideways under full throttle cornering but its always feeling like its griping and wanting to pull the inside front tire off the ground! I don't have a camera so pics will be difficult! And as for seeing the back of a Foreman, I seen it the whole weekend last week, as I was pushing my buddy through holes when he was on my old Foreman! LOL. Of course I also seen it a couple of times when mine sucked crap into the intake and died out. But it started as soon as I cleaned it out again.
Foreman turned on its side landing on my ankle and tearing up my knee.
Now I am in a immobilizer and had to have my knee drained twice. Think I will not worry about makin the back slide around any more, although it was fun while it lasted.
