I have a foreman 500 that is blinking 13 times for tps. The carb looked rough, so I ordered a new carb from Honda with a new tps on it. I installed the carb and it still blinks 13 times. Honda already broke the screws off, but I easily backed them out and adjusted the tps by ohm meter. I cleared the codes, but still 13 blinks and it will not shift. Does anyone have any advice or anything else to check?

Unplug you ECU under the front plastics, slather dialectic grease on the connections, and hook them back up. If your TPS isn't bad and you're still getting a TPS code it points to a bad ECU. In my case the plugs had some gunk in them and werent making a good connection.

Yeah, mine was a little touchy at first. The 06 I have in my sig had been sitting up for a couple of years when I got it. I checked the TPS, found it tested good with my ohm meter, so I put dialectic grease on the ECU plugs and that stopped the error code for awhile, but then it would come back. I tried a different ECU and it still popped up intermittantly, so I put the original back on, again packing grease in the connections. It went away and hasn't come back, so only thing I can think of is one of the connections wasn't getting good connectivity, and plugging/unplugging it over and over again got ride of whatever crud/corrosion was causing the bad connection.

Make sure you put grease in where your plug hooks up to the TPS......

I have checked all connections. I cleaned the electrical plugs and greased them. New CDI, new speedometer display, and new carb with new TPS, but I still get 13 blinks on the dash. Does any one have any other ideas what the problem could be. I clear the codes, but it starts blinks as soon as it clears. When I turn the key on, if I press the shift button quick enough, it will shift, but then start blinking and will not shift back. HELP Please!

Wow. Mine is a foot shift so it would still shift, just had that annoying blinking.

Manual says check TPS, if TPS checks out it point to bad ECU.

If you've replaced both I got nothing.
