is it possible for the engine to crack when i go into water after ridding on the trails for a while?
i've never seen or heard of this. but i was thinking the engine gets really hot while ridding is it a good idea to go into the water and not worry about anything adjusting to that extreme temp. change.
maybe im dumb... haha

never heard of a motor cracking but i have heard that if you ride it till it gets really hot then cool it down really fast that eventually it can make the cylinder from a circle to an oval causing your bike to smoke..........but we do it all the time and have not had a problem so far
I usually just try to make sure that the fan is not running.
i heard of someone doing that with a go-cart...rode it all day and decided to try and cross a small ditch and when the water hit the engine he lost power instantly b/c cracked the head....

i heard that a friend of mine let someone borrow his bike and did the same thing but i never saw it...he said that it cost him about $1500 to get it fixed... but who knows maybe the guy lied about it...
ya im heard people sayin if u cool them off fast it will crack a block. but im never seen it done..
Well it would be really easy to figure out what will happen! Take your fourwheeler and ride it all day...get it nice and hot(make sure the fan is on) and then throw a couple of 5gallon buckets of Ice water on it and see what happens

Ice water would do it I bet, that's a big change in temp. If it was going to happen that would be the way it does.
Bike was hot from just getting out of a bog hole. There was still ice on parts of the pond when I hit the water. No problems.
