To Lift, or not to Lift? That is the question.

I am thinking of getting a 2" HL lift kit.

I am running 27x12x12 mudbugs on back and 27x10x12 mudbugs on front.

I have all the performance stuff. Jet kit, exhaust, and filter.

I want to be able to get in some of the deeper holes and not "bottom out" in the ruts... having the bigger tires and the performance would help but i am not sure if a lift is for me...

what do you guys think?

i say go for it. its cheap and you can reverse it if u want to. i personaly do not have the HL lift yet but im going to be getting it soon. i called HL and asked them about it and they said its very easy to put on, but its on back order right now. that was about 5 days ago i called.
DONT.

you will still bottom out...as most of the time you are bottoming out on your axles.

plus with the lift you are just asking to break stuff as it puts everything @ hard angles

the only way to get more ground clearance is a nice set of 29.5's
but it will give him more ground clearance on his front end....

Do it, it will not break anything as long as you don't drive with your ego.
I have the lift and have not had a problem. I don't know about the rest of you but I "Ride It Like I Stole It" Just look at my bike and you can see this thing is not for trail riding with the fam. Go for the lift and if you dont like it take it off.
?

where can i get a 2" lift really cheap??

anyone have one that they took off or something??

highlifter wants over 100, and ebay isnt' much better...

can anyone make one???!
I just put this one on. He will sell you just the front pretty cheap. Good quality and fit perfect. Give him a shout:

He's a really good guy.
Exactly what JRICH said don't drive with your ego. Or if you have had to many "adult kool-aids" and drive through stuff balls to the wall! I just put a lift on mine and I love it. True you don't get any more clearence on the back but you do get alot on the front. Check mine out in my gallery. I SAY GO FOR IT! Take everyones opinion, but at the end do what you want with your bike. Everyone tried to talk me out of a lift and outlaws, but I am so glad now that I went ahead and did it!
I put a lift on mine a couple of weeks ago and love it. It completely changes the look of the bike as well. I am not worried about really breaking stuff, and I do go all out alot of the time. I figure if I break something, which if I do it will not be anything major its part of the deal. You start breaking stuff when your pushing the edge of limitations, anybody that has ever raced will tell you that. So if it breaks you just have to be prepared to pay that cost when the time comes!
.

i talked to a guy i found on ebay and he said that he could sell me just the front lift for $65 i may just do that..
take a look at the moose lift. i paid 85 for it at the dealer. really easy to put on. took about 20 min. i was really impressed
.

I should have my front tires in today!!

anyway, thought I would get that out.

But will the lift give you any more clearance in the rear?

That is why I was just going to lift the front, if the front is just a little higher than the back that should make it easier to get a wheelie and slide the skid plates across the mud...

what is the site for moose? www.moose.com??
mooseutilities.com I think.
