Tires and Winch

I am about to buy wheels and tires (Mudlites) for my 2006 Foreman 500ES. I have heard some people say they fit 27's with no other mods and others say 26' will fit. I would like to hear from someone who has mounted both of these on their 500's and was anything else required for them to fit (Lift Kit ETC...). I have been told I will have to cut my plastic splash guards for 27's to fit no matter what I do. I would just like to know what I am looking at before I buy them. Everyone tells me something different!! Also has anyone bought one of the Gorilla winches off of ebay and if so would you recommend it to anybody else?

i ran 27" gators on my bike stock, no cutting.
26" bighorns

I run 26" bighorns on 14" wheels they fit perfect , look great, no rubbing whatsoever. Also have a 2500# venom winch no problems with it. It seems to be a very strong winch i've pulled many atvs out with it.
I run 27" mudlite XTR's ( 9"&11" width)on 12" rim, with no cutting. I did have to beat in the wire footrest brackets though. The rim would rub on those brackets at full turn, while suspension being compressed. That was the only problem. These are on a 2008 foreman 500s.
I have 26" mudlites on stock wheels with no rubbing at all. I also recently bought a gorilla winch off ebay. Very happy with the timely shipment and customer service, although the first plate they sent did not fit right. (fit the machine, but the winch hit the headlight supports) I have not had much chance to use it yet, however I will soon as I am picking up a plow on friday. No more snowblowing!!!
Thanks for the info! Getting money for Christmas for wheels and tires and I just don't want to buy something and then wish I had bought something else ! Sounds like 26's are the way to go with no other mods.
I have 28" swamp lites on my 07. I have a 2" lift and i bent the support bracket under the front fender and they dont scrub at all. I have the gorilla 2000lb winch and i've used it plenty of times. it works great i would recomend anyone saving $300 and getting a gorilla. its just as good if not better than the top brands. I paid $115 in all for mine on ebay and got it fast. to me it was very simple to install, only took about an hour.
You are right, go 26" and you'll be fine. I have the same tires on mine, no rubbing, no mods, just 26 mudlites on stock wheels. I believe I have 9" wide in front and 10" in back. The 12" in back seemed bigger than I needed and stuck out from the fenders and sling mud on you. Plus they're a heavier tire with that extra rubber. just a thought
Hey Dirtysouth, Did you have to cut any plastic for those 28's? Also if you had it to do over again would you get another 2000 lb gorilla or would you get a 2500 or 3000?
i bought a 2500lb gorilla of an ebay store and i got no complaints. the winch did break due to me and they sent me a replacement and let me keep the old one. they advertise a 6 month no hassle warranty and it kinda seemed like i had to remind them of it when i asked for another one. all around good winch though.

Hello, I have a 06 foreman 500 es with mudmachines they fit great,Best deal Ifound at this site http://www.traxms.com/ .I also have a gorilla winch 3000lb, works great.I got it just after I got 4 wheeler.
Yeah i cut the mud flap just a little to be sure. Go big or u will regret it. I now wish I had 30". I think even those would fit. The 2000lb works great but its totally up to you. I think the 2500 is only a few dollars more. but the 2000lb is more then enough
Thanks for the advise. I'll post pics when i get them mounted.
