throttle linkage

I put a new motion pro twist throttle on my foreman and you would not believe the difference in response. my wife and I both have 500's and I could blow her away, when before her's was faster.
I believe that my throttle cable was not adjusted correctly from the dealer.
So you might want to try that for some extra power.
Also the twist throttle is a must to eliminate thumb fatigue.

Good tip. You are the first person I have heard of to put a twist throttle on.
I found it at Dennis Kirk part # 511951 for 41.00, great quality, made out of aluminum. the cable looks identical to stock.
I had to put one on my wifes too , she was mad when i rode circles around her. and I left the neighbor with the 300 sport scratching his head.
You will have to order a set of motocycle grips too.
i would like to get one but the way i wheels i think i would flip it over.
I was thinking the same thing, I think I would flip it when I am wheeling it, that is the only downfall I could see of having one though.
They aren't good for riding in tight, muddy tree trails though.I had a buddy that put one on a Rincon and every time we went on a mud rutted area he alway's was goosing the throttle from the bumps and his wrist would move downwards and that caused him to accelerate. Also in the tight tree trails we ride he would get the throttle stuck on tree limbs when in a tight jam situation and cause him to almost flip over.He ended up taking it off after a month. They are great for racing and track type riding though,I had a old ATC200X with one on it and it was the best when trail riding.Just my opinoin....

hey doc new here,i have a 05 rancher 500 2 wd. wanted to know if the twist throtle is the same for the 2 wheel dr. also what size is the new grip you put on it .7/8 ect.
MAY NOT OF PUT ON A NEW SYSTEM, BUT DID ADJUST THE THROTTLE CABLE AND MAN WHAT A DIFFERENCE. THROTTLE RESPONSE IS MUCH BETTER THAN THE STOCK ADJUSTMENT. (SORRY ABPUT THE ALL CAPS.)

Hmm...gonna have to check that I am getting a wide open throttle when Its supposed to be.
I had to do some searching cause motion pro didn't make a throttle for the 05 foreman yet. so i found that the 04 rubicon used the same carb and figured it would work. so that part number is for the rubicon.
I didnt know that honda made a 500cc rancher, but most of the ranchers use a smaller carb which may have a different connector, so i cant tell you if it will work.
My adjustment screw was turned all the way in on the carb so that the throttle cam hit the screw, which kept it from opening al the way. If you dont see any threads behind the locking nut then yours is probly to far in too. Have fun,, The Doctor
If they make a 500CC rancher, then I want it.
