thoughts for tires

well I went to the honda dealer where I bought my formans from, and started off by asking if a snorkle would void my warranty, he said yes, then I asked about taller tires, and what he said made a little sense, he said that with out a jet kit and pipe, the largest tires he would go with would be 26's because the tires would change up the gear ratio and that I would loose enough horsepower to notice it. what I want to know is who has an 06 forman, with tires taller than 26's, and if so what kind and what if any mods, and how well dose it preform.

I just have 26's on my '06 Rubicon, but I can tell you that it doesn't seem to make much difference from stock as far as just riding. I lost a good bit of top speed, but it has plenty of low-end power.

A stock Foreman will turn 27's, but a clutch kit would be better. A jet kit and pipe, in addition to clutch kit, would give you the most power in case you want to run 28+" tires.

I don't know why a snorkel would void your factory warranty though, it doesn't do anything that major...just keeps you from suckin' in a bunch of water.

Because they know why you want to put a snorkel on! Also Honda's fine print on the warranty say's that its void if you go more that 10 inches of water.
you cant do anything without voiding the warranty, if you are really wanting to mod your bike i would go to your dealer and tell them you want them to buy the warranty back. i never had a warranty on my rubicon but i asked my dealer what all i could do, he said i could only go with 26" tires. no jet kit, no air filter, no exhaust, and no snorkel. Also if they find that you have been riding deep they will void the warranty, i had that happen to a person i ride with.

I got some 26'589's.My bike would have some room to put some 27's,i'm pretty sure. But,i'm waiting for my tires to dull out first before I look at other tires.
I am running 28s and have no problem. if i get in some deep stuff then i have to go to first but that is no big deal. i just put a pipe and jet kit on it and it made a difference but mine ran fine without it too. get the biggest tires you can afford. simple as that. good luck man.
