Hello All. I have a 2021 Rubicon DCT model, was thinking about using Synthetic Oil on subsequent oil changes, any of you guys make the switch to synthetic? My machine only had initial break in oil change, so it's early enough for me to go the synthetic route. Thanks

This is my first Honda, and I have only had Polaris before, which is synthetic, and I just assumed that the Honda oil was Synthetic as well, but its not. So, I didn't want to use it, so my dealer suggested to use the - Penzoil 0W-30 Platinum Euro full synthetic - after the first oil change, and it made a nice difference, especially in colder temps. It seems to also shift smoother, but that could just be me. Cant go wrong either way with synthetic in my books.

Actually, Honda does offer a synthetic oil as well as two synthetic blend offerings. The standard oil GN4 (black bottle) is probably what most are used to seeing. HP4 (gold bottle) and HP4M (silver bottle) are synthetic blend oils that they offer. HP4S (red bottle) is their full synthetic oil. Everybody has their own opinion on oil types and brands. I like to stick with oils that were tested and developed for their specific application so I will always run Honda oil personally. It's not a huge investment and the peace of mind is worth it to me. I don't have to worry if they are wet clutch compatible as many oils are not. ATV and motorcycle engines see a lot higher RPMs and heat than most automotive applications and they account for this with the oils that are designed for these engines.
