Hello all,

Installed the Symtec ATV handlebar / thumb warmer kit. Went well I thought - until tonight when I plugged in my garmin gps into the accessory socket and blew the fuse.

I tied into the back side of the accessory socket to power the grips as indicated on the package instructions. Seemed to work fine until I plugged in my gps. Evidently too much amp draw? I replaced the blown 10amp fuse with a 15 and it blew that one immediately also.

Anyone have this kit also - where did you go for power? Can I run my power wire directly to the battery ?

Here are my installation instructions:

Thanks.

Ok - I'll run striaght to the battery with a switch. The Symtech setup does have a 2 hr shut off feature in the controller - so even If I forgot to power it off - would probably be ok.

How heavy of an inline fuse should I run?

Also - notice there is some sort of relay located right off the positive post of my battery. Should I tie into that - or directly to the battery ?

Thanks.
