I have been chasing some issues that turned out to be sensor issues. So I changed the angle sensor and now the reduction gear will not move( it turned freely before). On the flow chart in the repair manual there is a note about releasing the ball nut if it bottoms out on the shaft, but seems unclear about how to release it other than put a screw driver in to release it. Do I use a flat, Phillips, square screw driver? Do I turn the screw driver? Maybe hit it with a hammer? Can anyone clarify this procedure with me?

So, are you referring to the gear that the shift motor turns to select the automatic gearing? It's pretty common for them to reach the end of the gear's travel and get stuck. I would just use a flat blade screwdriver and get it moving by hand, just stick it between the teeth and pry on it - the effort needed isn't much (not unless there's been damage done).

thanks Spock, that is the gear. I am still not able to turn it without really bearing into it. Is there a direction I should turn it?

What part of the display is flashing? Is it constant or a number of flashes that repeats?
I reinstalled the angle sensor and did the initial startup and got the display to give correct indication. I did diagnostic and the code blinks 6 times for angle sensor so I reset then checked codes again and all is status quo. I am still not able to get er to fire up. It could be the aftermarket carb I installed so I am going to put back the old one and🤞🏻Stay tuned
