Squeaky Seat?

1694 Views 8 Replies 7 Participants Last post by  lorcux
My new 500 has developed a squeak on it that I only hear when I go over bumps or dips on the trail. It seems as thought it is coming from my seat. I am assuming it is coming from the latches towards the rear that fasten the seat down. Anyone have this squeak or know how to fix?

Alot of Hondas have that squeak. Just spray some WD-40 on it.
If you spray some Hilco Lube on it. It is the stuff the FP&L use for lubercation. It has alot of oil base to it and may last alot longer. WD stands for water disperser. It will disperse the water but then dry up pretty quick. The Hilco Lube will stay on for a good while..Give er' a try
Applied white lithium grease,,,,,works fine.
Do you guys also find that the wing tabs at the front are easily flexed out?

I find mine pop out from time to time, usually only one side if If am putting the english on to work through some ruts that try to high center me.

i'm glad to hear it is the seat. i always thought that sound was me drawing a suction on the seat while rock crawling.
