So about a month ago i went in to buy stuff for a maintenance and the guy at the Honda counter thought i had a Rubicon instead of a foreman.

needless to say i got all the wrong stuff oil filters, spark plugs etc...

but that spark plug for the Rubicon was $20
just got back from getting the right spark plug and it was $4.25

both machines are very similar correct?

why is one $20 and one $5 ?

I wish I new what makes a plug $20 vs $5, but I dont.

They are completly different motors though, Air cooled vs. liquid cool.

At least you got a few bucks back, just sucks that you had to make another trip to the dealer.

i swear no dealers know anyhting well at least the parts dept. Well i couldnt tell you why the plug on the rubicon is so much but even at discount auto parts it still was $9 beats paying $23. The oil filters are totally different one is tiny and the other is twice the size.

Actually i still have all the Rubicon stuff, because i bought it from The Honda dealer i bought my bike from down in Pompano. Havent had the free time to drive an hour there to return it. The also ordered me a servce manual for a Rubicon instead of the Foreman. Luckily i caught it before the manual was shipped to me.that is waiting on me to pick up also.

I found out they were wrong when i drained my oil to do the first service and am holding this big ass oil filter in my hand, scratching my head saying"where am i going to put this?"

turns out the oil filter for the 05' Foreman is the same as 04' ranchers go figure? but i still had on of those on my shelf from my previous bike so i lucked out.

I'm going to stop by Champions in Cocoa on my way to class tonight to get oil and a filter. Can wait to see how it goes. Seems simple enough.

The Rubicon and Rincon use a Ngk Iridium spark plug compared to a reg resistor type Ngk for the Foremans.I run the Rubicon plug in my 450ES all the time, they never foul out and make your ignition system work easier. The new Honda and Toyota cars run them from the factory and say not to replace them for 100,000 miles. The Iradium plug is twice as efficent as platinum tip spark plugs. The part number starts with IR which stands for Iridium type. The plug is perfect heat range for South and Central Fl.If you ever buy a complete power package from let's say HL,the Iradium plug comes with the air filter, muffler, jets etc.Try it out and you'll like them.
