Just sold the wifes Rincon and my Foreman and bought the 2007 650 h1 and the 700 EFI. We will be riding this weekend and I will post my thoughts on the cats.

Just letting everyone know, I am not knocking any 4 wheeler. I have owned other brands other than Honda. I am just stating the obvious. If it has a belt, trouble is coming. Maybe not today, but it is going to happen, and probably not in your back yard. Usually when you are miles away from any life form. Completely off topic, John Deere and CubCadet lawn mowers. These are, without argument, the best of the best when it comes to lawn mowers. There weakest link? Ironically it is the Belts! What about trucks? Dodge, Chevy, Ford. What happens when a belt breaks on them! They are dead. Same with 4 wheelers. If you choose to go with a brand that has a belt drive, be cautious of where you put it. It is not made for everything.
I honestly can't tell you how many Yamahas and Polaris's I have had to go around and pull out because their belt burnt up on my deer lease being the trails are very muddy and harsh. So far, I have yet to see one of my buddies with a Honda where there shaft had burned up. All I am saying is I have heard more complaints than praises.

i agree i dont really like the belts either, but hond's got to do somethin the straight axle aint for a mud machine, and the torque of the automatic rincon aint nothin to brag about, i believe ill take an extra belt, i really like the bombardiers

not raggin on the hondas theyre the toughest, but they dont perform like the others
Bikes really have nothing to do with it. If you can throw your machine around and handle it like its a you know what then you can go further than your competition. Any bike out there is a POS when beat on and I know from experience. Get what you like and ride it till it breaks and then fix it again. .02 given!
so if your trying to tell me that you can follow a artic cat with the same tires as you and the same lift and all the accesories your just wrong im not going to try to be the good guy, you cant i dont care how much you rock it throw it around you aint goin to follow him in ruts look at the ground clearane difference at the rear end hes got 17'' at the rear end and youve got 10'' its common sense

amen man, every bike is gonna break. some auto bikes have to worry about belts smoking, and other auto bikes have to worry about dropping the tranny. but who cares what you ride, if you dont like what you ride then get another brand. as long as your out there having fun who cares.

lmao bet me...........
MAD MUDDER is right. As long as you are having fun, who cares. I have seen those no name four wheelers, 2 wheel drive at that, go through some nasty stuff. So, buy whatcha want, ride like you stole it, and get er done!!!!
Well I dont know, snowmobiles all have belts and had them since they probably were invented and they seem to work great. The belt is a maintenance item though and it would probably be wise to change it out regularly, just like on snowmobiles and you'll be fine.
didnt mean to start an arguement over this subject...I will say that the Arctic Cat was unreal in torque and went many places my foreman would hang up due to the straight axel. Its amazing what IRS and clearance can do for you. I have been a faithfull Honda rider for awhile but it just didnt get the job done riding in the real nasty mud. I spent a lot of money building that foreman to its potential and I still couldnt get through the thick stuff like these cats do factory. I cant imagine when I start putting mods on this monster what it will do. I still believe the ride and dependability goes to honda but if you havent tried one of these big bore atv's your cutting yourself short. There is no doubt that I will replace belts but there only like 100 bucks and easy to replace on the go. I wouldnt had bought these cats if I couldnt afford to ride them. I used to drag race cars and this is by far a lot less expensive to do and in my opinion a lot more fun. The way we all like to put mods on our atv's you should expect to break something eventually. Like the old saying goes if you wanna play you have to pay. By the way there is a vote going at this web site and I havent seen ours there. There voting for the top 100 atv sites. http://www.top100atvquadsites.com/

hey civic ill bet you right now you cant follow ceo right now if he had just the 27 outlaws he dont need 28s i could follow you but i couldnt follow him his mess will TURN EM IN LOW 50mph, and he'll have clearance all over you if you aint got a irs conversion you cant roll with him
the difference is that snowmobile belts dont get wet and they only cost $50......QUOTE ("fossil":cjwwrjmo)

FATSAM,

AMEN BROTHER!!!
Hey, I am not trying to argue or be a stick in the mud. This is just my 2 cents. I have always had Hondas, I have always believed that you could never beat a Honda. I love mine and plan to keep it for a long time. But, the truth is, when you start comparing brands, Hondas are probably the most underpowered. I have put $1300 in aftermarket parts to get mine to be able to perform like many of my buddies bikes that are stock. I am not one that tries to outdo others, I am one that does not want to be left behind. I love playing in the mud. My cousins both have Kawi 650's and with the same tires I have, they eat me alive. The issues with the belts...90% of the people I ride with run bikes with belts. They run in the same mud holes and pits I do, the only ones that have had the belts screw up majorly are Polaris and Suzuki. I am no knocking on these brands either. Any bike can break in the blink of an eye, I am just saying that just becuase it has a belt, it is not a bad machine. You want some proff at how well belt driven machines go in mud, and I mean MUD! Venture on down to Highlifter in Shreveport, LA or TriangleATV in Longview, Texas. There ride in the deepest mud and rivers and ponds. They know exactly what belt driven machines can do.
