What's the best way to run a snorkle without cutting a hole in your plastic?

for some reason the pic's are not working on that link anymore, so here are a few of the wife's foreman to give u an ideal of what it looks like. the link has the info on what I used to build them.
what about running spa hose from the air box up into/by the pod?

i know that link for a rincon, but i am sure it'l work for a Foreman.

I was thinking about running 2 inch PVC. Would 1 1/2 be better?
You'll have to use 1 1/2 at the airbox so it's just as well to use 1 1/2. I stepped up to 2" for the front riser to make sure I got enough air and also I liked the look of the bigger pipe. The rad hose gives a clean look and makes it easy to move aside for servicing.
you can use 2" all the way to the air box, but it will have to be reduced to 1.5" or the airbox will have to be modified to accept the 2" pipe.
SNORKEL

DIRTY4MAN'S SNORKEL SET UP IS THE BEST !!! I JUST GOT DONE INSTALLING MINE .. IT WORKS GREAT AND NOT HARD TO DO AT ALL . TRIED MINE OUT YESTERDAY AT WHITEFALLS AND I WAS MOST IMPRESSED !!! DIRTY4MAN YOU SHOULD GET A PATENT ON THAT IDEA !!! THIS GUY KNOWS HIS S*** .. LISTEN CAREFULLY KIDS .. HERES A pic of mine ..
Is it easily removable so if you dont want it on there you just take it off and on? and does the rad hose hold up well to the heat?
With this setup you actually cut the stock snorkle so you can't remove it unless you get another stock one or use a different attachment to the airbox. Why would you want to remove it? I was going to make another short riser to install in the rack bracket but might not because I like the way the bike looks with the longer one.
The rad hose should handle the heat better than plastic pipe or flex hose. I'm sure Dirty4man would have mentioned if he had any problems with heat. Then again we've seen how he babies his bike and doesn't like to get it dirty.
Heat has never been a problem, just dont let it touch the exhaust. my setup is over 2 years old, maybe longer. if you look close in the third picture of the air box setup at the bottom on the frame, I install a tie-wrap to help hold the hose up.

Ty wrapped my hose to the frame also.
Got a question on extending vents. Don't have a light pod. First idea was to drill and tap snorkle pipe close to the shock and insert barb fittings for vent lines. Read that I shouldn't run carb vents to snorkle because of the vacum so I guess they would run to the bars.
Second thought was to run a second , smaller snorkle 1 1/4" maybe, next to the intake snorkle. It would run basically from just below the plastic to the same height as first snorkle. I could run all vents to this. Doubt that I would ever go deep enough to actually need the vents this high but I thought the dual snorkles would look good and be a clean install. Anyone have any thoughts?
My thoughts on removing it was that I dont always ride alot of mud & water....But occasionally I like to...Was wanting to be able to take it off when Im not in the mood to ride lots of water...
I ran my vents to barbed fittings on my snorkel including the carb vents and have had no problems what so ever.
H4 all the vents can be tied into one vent line except the carb vent. This will only give you two vent lines up front. you can run them up beside your snorkel.
why can't you run the carb vents to the snorkel
Not all bikes but some will create a vacuum in the carbs starving it.
Thanks for the replies guys. wvforeman I see your point about wanting to make it removable. I made my exhaust snorkle like that cause I figured it would be in the way most of the time. For the intake you could just make the short riser to use on the trails.
I didnt think of that h4..That could be the way to go....Thanks...
I finally got my snorkle built, and the motor's idleing is off, and it boggs when you give it gas. Where's the air/fuel mixture screw at so I canplay with it a little?
