Me and SASQUATCH are about to put snorkels on or 500's and we run the D.J. 170's. Should we downsize our jets???

Already snorkled a 2006 Foreman and that was the jet. Some say if you snorkle a bik, then it changes... I have not ran into that problem yet. That jet seems to run great with the snorkle and HMF pipe.
THAT IS THE SAME SIZE JET I RUN IN MINE, I NEVER CHANGED A THING.
Whats up brodie. was the triangle snork hard to put on and do you like it. My buddy just put one on a foreman 450. I really wouldn't mind putting one on mine like the one above and come threw that replaceable cover. I'm thinking about jeting mine, filter but keeping the stock exhaust do you think it would be worth it. Thank for any help.
IT WILL HELP, BUT THE EXHAUST WILL SHOW THE BIGGEST IMPROVEMENT. I LOVE MY SNORKEL, NOT HARD AT ALL TO PUT ON, COULD BUILD ONE VERY CHEAP USING MINE AS A MODEL.
Thanks for the input, but I have a slight problem with mine when i give it full throttle it wants to choke out, it will stay in the high rpm's but it will studder???
ive got the same problem not sure what the fix is yet. Maybe somebody will chime in soon.
Are you all sure that you are not hitting the Rev limiter? Or is it doing it a lot sooner then that.
way before that.
i'm having the same problem on mine....i just installed a snorkel using 2" pvc for the pipe out of the top of the breather box and for the extension above the fender and I used 1 1/2" flex tubing to run between the two. When i get to the top end of the gears it studders pretty bad. I didn't know if I should jet the carb or what. I did extend the tail pipe as well but it was doing the same thing before i did that

2005 foreman 500
26" mudlites
snorkel

any info would help

The solution----on a 500 with a snorkel, jet kit, and a exhaust ...its helps to have your snorkel 2 inch all the way. The problem is that not enough air can flow through the 1 1/2 when full throttle is reached thats why your bikes are cutting out...(mine does it also), Now i know its much easier to come out of the air box with 1 1/2...but as soon as possible 2" needs to be used. I tried just converting my Riser to 2" and that helped a little but it still cut out on the top end. So i am in the process of converting mine and im sure it will run alot better with 2" all the way ....I this helps you guys
thanks guys! it was 1 1/2 that i had on there first, moving up to 2" sounds like it would help!!!
i don't know if you can tell but on my riser i used to have a "U" shaped fitting on there and i was cutting out a lot worse than i am now so i cut the U and faced the opening toward the front of the bike to force the air in and that helped alot but it still struggles on top end...how much would a jet kit cost for the 500?
Jet kit for the Foreman comes with an assortment of jets for where you ride, the spring, and the long needle for about $55.00. Its well worth the money. I thought that is was about $150.00 for a long time. When I found out the price, I ordered one for the 500 and the 650. You will not be sorry...
