As long as the steel bushing is not cracked or worn to thin, I wouldn't about it. Just make sure you tighten the shocks bolts real good and they shouldn't move around at all. Also dont forget to grease them up to eliminate them from squeaking
thanks 4 that dirty,no cracks and not thin yet.rog
HIGHLIFTER SPRING INSTALL

HI IS THERE A TRICK OR DIFFERENT WAY TO INSTALL THESE HIGHLIFTER SPRINGS WITHOUT THE TOOL HIGHLIFTER SELLS ? COULD YOU TELL ME THE TOTAL PROCESS OF PUTTING THEM ON . THE INSTRUCTIONS SEEM SO SIMPLE BUT AFTER I TOOK THE 4 SHOCKS OFF THE FUN BEGAN !!!!!! NOW I NEED TO POP THE STOCK SPRINGS OFF AND PUT THE NEW ONES ON . PLUS I BROKE ONE OF THE DUST COVERS ON THE SHOCK .. A LITTLE HELP ANYONE .. DIRTY4MAN I SEE ME AND YOU HAVE THE SAME YEAR FOREMAN , PERHAPS YOU OR ANYONE ELSE CAN HELP ME WITH THIS QUESTION !!!
Trigger the spring tool is the safest way to put them on. I have done it before using hose clamps, but it was a pain and very dangerous. I dont recomend it. So I made my own tool. The tool is real simple to make, here are a few pictures of it.
parts needed

hi can you tell what parts they are and where can i get the peices to make this comprerssor ? thanks for your help !!!!!!
This was some scrap left over at work. The bottom is a piece of unstrut, 3/4" pipe for the handle and the mount is a piece of 3" angle with the slot I cut into it to fit the springs. I drilled a 3/8" hole in the bottom of the angle to bolt it to the unstrut nut. The unstrut accepts a special nut, that allows it to side making it adjustable for different size shocks. You should be able to find the unstrut, pipe at lowes or home depot. They will not have angle that big.
my friend works at bellsouth andgot me 4 large HD pull ties, very large. i used them like a spring compressor and then cut them off when i was done.
