Rookie with a jetting questions!

3396 Views 11 Replies 4 Participants Last post by  gymrat12
I have an 04 450ES. I have installed a FMF Powerline exhaust and K&N filter. I got a jet from the dealer and it is a 132. Is this the correct one for me? I see so many people talking about 135 and bigger. I do not plan on installing a snorkel. What is the stock jet size? Any other info you experienced riders can offer this rookie is greatly appreciated!

The stock jet should be a #130, so the #132 should be close to what you need.
Where do i set the needle to?
just leave the needle in the stock position untill you run it for the first time to see what you need to do.
Installed the 132 jet. Runs good but if you wind it up and let off the throttle it will actually backfire. Is this normal? Has anyone ever took the top off their airbox and went with a bigger jet. What would be the best setup overall for me with the FMF pipe and K&N filter? Want the most power possible.

Main Jet?
Pilot Jet?
Needle position?
A/F Mixture?

Any and all advice is GREATLY appreciated.

I also ordered the Perfex long travel kit today. Good Kit?
Perfex long travel kit awesome kit for a foreman.
how does the FMF sound on the foreman? power gains? loud? hard to put on? sorry for all the questions.
i really want to get one but i dont hear anyone that has one so i'm not rushin into that just yet, but a small review would be awesome.
It was very easy to install. It is definitelt not quiet at all. Has a nice snap to it and even sounds better when it is under compression. I did notice a power gain with the mods I have made, but still want more.

Did you use ear plugs when your stock exhaust was on? lol, I have the FMF on my Rincon and its a little bit louder at idle but the baffles do a great job at keeping it quite when your on the throttle. Hardly any louder than stock.
