If you own a Rincon, and have had problems with your transmission, vote appropriately and state, if you would, what the problem was.

No problems, 3500kms, modded 95% of its life.
I have a 07 rincon, no problem with tranny yet
If mine is cold the gear selector will not shift in all the way into drive. It goes in gear, but is short of the detent/lock gate. If I drive forward slowly and let off it slips in. Only happens if she is cold and only on first shift into gear, not second time, it goes away on the first. Since I figured it out I just warm it up for 5mins and no problems going into gear ever.

Anyone else with this quirk?

Yes, pretty much exactly as you describe. Didn't count it as a transmission "failure", as I'm pretty sure its just a linkage adjustment question. Was that way off the showroom floor.

Problem is an annoyance, a minor one at that. And it is slowly going away, otherwise I'd of fixed it.... meaning attempt the FSM adjustment, or the frame for the shift.

I think cold, the idle is higher, and the detents on the adjuster are set so it barely gets to right point. Does not do it in reverse. Center that, and it goes away, I suspect.
So is the Rincon's transmission overall pretty good? Ive been wanting one but I;m scared of the trans. and low end power.
you could get a gear reduction.Hey what ever happened to the wankers at gorilla. They said that the were going to make the best gear reduction for the rincon I guess daniel from turner cycles was right about the way he did it was the only way it could be done.
Can-am gave everyone at Gorilla 800's so they'd forget about it lol
oh well, I hope when fathers day comes I get my CDI box I nave been waiting for since it came out SWEET!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have #31 off the first production run lol

I have an 2004 650 and have had tranny problems pretty much right from the start. First it would slip into neutral in kinda deep mud, you could shift from drive to reverse and back and nothing I would have to shut it off for a few minutes and try it. now i also have to let it warm up for half an hour before it will shift, and if it does it revs right out before it does. loss of about 10 - 15 kph. I also have the oil/temp light coming on problem that i read about somewhere else.
Sounds like a lemon. Did you buy it used?
G
Yeah, it was used. It worked awesome at first I loved it, but it wasnt for long.
Where did you get it?

The Power Store, bombardier dealer in Saint John, New Brunswick. No warranty, but like I said in worked right when I brought it home. They said to let them know if anything went wrong. I did, they shut me down told me I caused it. Somebody told me that there was a seal in the tranny that goes bad on them and that was causing my troubles.
Of the 6 negative votes so far, only patterson has posted a problem. How about the other 5 listing what problems they have had?

How long since you got it? The one I posted was one I ALMOST bought that was for sale in Amherst at the Product Finder about a year ago. I talked to the buddy who owned it and he told me not to buy it. He lost his license and used it for a car. It had jumped the timing destroying the motor which was one the the major problems it had, not to mention a half dozen other things he mentioned. I'm kind of thinking someone in NB bought it and traded it in again. Its possible, this one was a major lemon.
I owned a Rincon for less than a week, took it out the first time and the turbine inside the torque converter shattered and took out the trans. After that I traded it in and got my Rubicon.

Maybe its just me... but why do I doubt your story?
I don't know, don't care. I like the Rincon, just didn't care for being towed back to town after it broke on me. Didn't cost me a thing to get it fixed but I didn't like the idea of a torque converter when i bought it and once it happened I couldn't rely on it anymore. I mean I paid 12 grand after extended warrenty and prefered service plan and just to have it break when I took it out I didn't want it anymore.
