If I were to take the spark Arrestor out of my 2005 Rincon 650, would I notice a gain in power? And how much different would the sound be?
It probably wouldn't change anything, except you'd no longer have a spark arrestor. If you take the whole tip assembly off it will make it a lot louder. No power gain though. You might want to check eBay for the 2" exhaust tips. Again, no gain in power, but it sounds good.

No, if you totally gut the muffler and run a straight pipe you'd loose power, just removing the spark arrestor won't do that though. That's why aftermarket exhausts flow more air not less.

Sometimes when you remove it you'll need to adjust your jetting or EFI tune, which is why it might stall with it removed. Once you have it tuned you would make more HP.
that makes sense but you would need to get a programmer correct?
