Rincon Snorkel

I need help building a snorkel for the Rincon.

Does the 2" hose go on the left or right side?

Do I need to cut a hole in the side plastic?

Does the snorkel go over or under gas tank heat shield?

Any help or pics would be great.

Thanks

The Bayou Snorkel kit Black Rinny has uses 2 1.5" pipes "Y'd" just out of the airbox. Then travel on both side of the motor out the front rack.
Thanks Truegrit

That's good news, I won't have to cut the side plastic.

The right side looks okay to run a pipe above the heat shield, but the left side won't fit above the heat shield.

Does the left side pipe go below the heatshield?

Do I need to have two vertical fenders pipes, or should I T back together and use one vertical fender pipe?

Do you think using the 1 1/2" reinforced flex pipe would work better then a spa hose?

Thanks for your Help,

Bones

Thanks Black-Rinny...This is what I have so far.

I have the following preliminary parts list:

1. 2'-0" long x 2" Flex Pipe.

2. 2" Tee with (2) 1.5" reducers.

3. 4'-0" long x 1 1/2" Flex Pipe each side.
a. Right pipe around upper frame and inside side panel and through fender flare near shock mount.
b. Left pipe around upper frame and below gas shut off and through inside fender flare below storage box.

4. Fender Mount each side: (2) 4x6 1/4 flange plates with 4-1/4" diameter SS bolts with lock nuts and with 1.5" sleeve and coupler top and bottom. Fender mounts located on flat part of fender.

5. 1.5" vertical pipe with 45 degree bends and with 180 degree hook right and left side.

6. Glue and Clamps connections as requied.

I have never built a snorkel before so if there is anything on this list a don't need or forgot, Please Help?

Thanks,

Bones

Well I scrapped all that crap...I used a 2" coupler into the box, 2" flex hose, with 45, cut a 2" dia x 3" lg hole in the cover plate, and extended the a 2" pipe over the gas tank and added a 90, painted it black and I was done in just a few hours.

It runs great...the new snorkel will give me 8-10" of added height over the stock snorkel.

Lets see some pics.
Custom Short Snorkel
Looks pretty clean. Plus the fron rack stays open.
Man U may have somethin there. Looks Good.
Thanks...I'm going try this new slightly longer, higher, forward facing cap...and see how it works this weekend...I hope the weather warms up soon.

nice job Bones
Thanks Black Rinny.

I hope it's high enough to get down the Fence Line and through Alligator Swamp.

I like that, very stealth!!
Looks nice. Just hope you don't go deeper than your handlebars .
looks nice but seems like it would be a pain in neck to fillerup wit gas. is it?
John... the angle of the picture makes it appear over the gas tank cap...in reality it stops short of it...the gas cap easily comes off..and fill up is tight but not difficult.

Railroader...I'm still new at ATV...having alot of fun practicing water wheeles right now...their a blast...but water wheelies only takes a few feet of water to get the front end up, I just hope I don't end up deeper than my seat, or flat on my back....biggest problem I'm having now is trying to steer when riding a wheelie...sometime the bike just spins around and around, or sometime I just slam into the embakement on either side.
