Rincon shifts like a three speed car transmission with a torque converter. In automatic 1st gears goes 0-20, second gear 20-40, third gear 40-60. I use the manual shift 1st gear when going up and down hills and 3rd gear when cruising around.
The Rincon transmission is not for work, it cannot pull a heavy load like a Rubicon, and it cannot turn large 29.5 in the thick stuff like a Rubicon. Best to use 27" tires with the Rincon stock gear ratio. A gear reduction is available from HL but I wouldn't recommend it.
Rincon has the best handling and suspension of any quad, and the IRS will provide a better ride than the Rubicon.
