What I ended up doing was pushing the red button down and installed a self tapping sheet metal screw through the bottom of it to hold it down. This way you don't see a wire tie or anything, and you still have to pull the brake lever in to engage reverse.

Here is a picture of what I did. drilled an 1/8" hole in the bottom of the pin and put in a self tapping sheetmetal screw. Still have to pull in the brake lever to engage reverse for safety.
