You can also do it this way, it's what I did. You may need an extra hand to do it.
Press the reverse button and pull back the brake lever and have someone hold it. Then pull back the rubber cover, you should see the exposed brake cable and reverse cable. Take an average sized zip tie (the one I used was about 3/16" wide) and put the zip tie around the reverse cable and trim the excess. When you release the brake handle the zip tie will act as a spacer to hold the reverse lever out, you will be able to get into reverse without pulling the lever.
