I have the Warn multi-mount which does let the winch hang out there un-protected,I just have to watch where I'm going when backing up.I have used the winch pulling from the back more times than pulling from the front.

any one ever mounted a winch to rear of their quad i was planning on doing this so any help would be much appreciated i saw the montana jacks system and why it is nice i dont like how it makes them stick out unprotected a friend who has that cracked his warn in half he now has the metal plates that protect the winch but i still dont like it so any tips or pic would be great thanks

I built a cage for mine so it goes on the front or back, pics in my photo album may help.
I seen some one remove there trunk and put the winch there
