back seat

I GOT ONE FOR WHEN MY GIRL RIDES WITH ME BUT IT IS A SOFT ONE BUT WORKS GOOD U CAN PUT 4 SMALL COOLERS IN IT AND A BUNCH OF STUFF IN THE BACK BAG AND I JUST WENT TO WAL-MART AND GOT SOME SEALABLE PLASTIC CONTAINERS TO PUT STUFF IN TO KEEP DRY AND AS LOND AS U GET A CAN OF WATER PROOFING SPRAY IT COMES CLEAN AND STAY DRY IN SIDE FOR THE MOST PART.
I got a Kimpex deluxe storage seat/box. My wife rarely rides but when i put it on she sat in it for a half hour chatting with me in the garage and said how comfortable it was. It was $235 from outdoorsmanatv.com. they were great to deal with. It has hand grips (heated optional), color matched vinyl, brake light and I installed a car stereo and speakers in it as well.
that is the one i have been looking at . how do you wire up the heated hand grips
They are the best style of seat to get. They have the most storage space and are most comfortable. I have seen the button latches break though and be replaced with a rubber style latch. don't know about the grips, don't like added more electrical if i don't have to. Warm gloves and dry extra pairs for me.
yeah i am not to much a fan of the extra elect but to keep the wife happy but luck i would not ground it and shock the crap out of her and that would be a bad day for me but anyway congrats boss on being in dirtwheels last month

Everyone I ride with has a rear seat and our wives use them all the time and find them great. It's technically illegal to carry a passanger on a quad here but everyone does it. Usually only get a ticket if your stopped for something else like no helmet or riding on the highway. The bike will handle differently with a passenger so extra attention is needed, especially on steep climbs.

Some have heated grips and find them great. Mine does not but it's not an issue as a passenger can easily keep her hands out of the wind. No danger of a shock and the grips won't work without a good ground. There are many different models to chose from with lots of options. Pick one that is comfortable. Mine is a small basic model but my wife finds it more comfortable than the larger models because she feels more secure and doesn't move around in the seat as much.

Rear foot pegs are a must for the passenger to be comfortable. Some dealers call them fender protectors as they can't promote carrying passengers.

If you attach it to a tubular rear rack a piece of wood under the seat will make the rack more comfortable to sit on. The extra storage is a real plus.

THERE IS A 4 PRONG PLUG THAT COMES OUT UNDER THE SEAT. IT HAS THREE HOT AND 1 GROUND. THE ONE HOT IS HOOKED UP TO THE BRAKE LIGHT. I USED ANOTHER HOT ONE FOR MY RADIO. THE GRIPS WIRE RIGHT INTO THAT. THE NICE THING IS YOU WIRE THE ONE PLUG TO YOUR BIKE AND THEN WHEN YOU TAKE THE SEAT OFF ALL YOU NEED TO DO IS UNPLUG IT AND GO. I WIRED MINE DIRECT TO THE BATTERY TERMINALS THAT WAY I JUST USED THE HARNESS THEY GAVE ME.NO EXTRA WIRES. VERY EASY INSTALL. 4 UBOLTS 2 WIRES AND PLUG IN.
Mine is a Kimpex trunk/ seat. My sun rides in it mostly but, my wife rides in it too and says it is comfortable. She is a real girly girl. I made a seperate frame to bolt the box to (didn't care for the u-bolts suplied) and made a quick release so I can pull two bolts and it's off. O also HL springs, at least on the rear would be a good adition to handle the extra weight.
Mine like jaydubb's . excellent seat /trunk lotza storage , i applied a bead of black rtv around the lids to keep the dust /moisture out . I find it real comfy , i've noticed you have yours back a lil farther Jaydubb. ur wife must be very light ? , i'm about 230 , and g/f around 145 , i find a big diff as for handling and rear weight shift , transfer . I find it a little tougher for uphill climbing , most of the time i will have her get off (safety wise) Also i can even sit on there sometimes while riding ,or i flip the lil seat up , and it acts as a back rest for me ... All in All good deal !!
Yeah, it is back a little far not because wife is smaller than your girl (infact about same) but, I felt cramped up when I had it further foward. I'm about 20 lbs heavier than you. Handling is a little light in the front but, I haven't had a problem yet. nock on wood
thanks for the pics guys i am hoping this can be a xmas gift for the both of us. we go on poker runs all summer about 50 miles every weekend i think this will make it better for her (which is better for me )
where did you guys get yours the best price i have found is 230 and free ship at outdoorsmanatv.com also is there any diffent modles i have saw them with brake lights and fuel storage.
Here is a link to the one I got made by WES $215 shipped. The one I received is slightly different than the picture. I believe the picture is of an older model. It is almost exactly the same, opens the same, has the fuel storage compartment but has a really nice red and white company logo embroidered on the back of the seat and the seat pad, the part you sit on has a very slight lip on the front. My wife rides with me all the time and says it is very comfortable. I did also get the fender protectors and the foot pegs which I think is a must to go along with the seat otherwise your passenger will be holding on tight to the handles all the time in fear of falling off, it wont happen but sitting up high like that on the rear you do have that fear. With the foot pegs you hold yourself in place with your feet instead of just having them dangle down over the fenders. I have taken a few other passengers as well and I have also sat in it for a short ride and we all think it is very comfortable. I went with this one because it is just a little smaller than some of the other ones but still just as functional. I couldn't believe the amount of storage space you can put all kinds of stuff in there.
