rear crank seal bad?

when i had my bike on the back rack last time (trying to drill out rear diff skid plate bolts that broke) oil started leaking out of my pull start...does that mean broken rear seal?...i get my bike back tomorrow from an entirely rebuilt engine, gonna take my pull start off to reseal it tomorrow, im guessing there isnt much more to dig into to replace this seal...if anyone has any input on this it would be much appreciated, because i wanna ride this weekend and definetly have to have it ready for labor day weekend
