My wife has an 07 Rancher 420. the problem she has is shifting the ES
from 1st gear to 2nd.
You have to press the shift button 2 or 3 times before it will shift, all other
gears shift with no problems. the bike will shift from 1st to 2nd if you are
at or almost at a complete stop.
Any suggestion would be helpful.

mine does this whent it cold.......going to put grease on the angle sensor and see if that helps

Try adjusting the clutch...the instructions are in your owners manual,it's very easy to do.I've found that using Amsoil 0W-40 motor oil also helps this concern.

I adjusted the clutch and it's working 100% better.
Will also be going to Amsoil 0w40 at next oil change.
